I disagree with some that say this is JUST for high handi-cappers. Yes, high HC will definatley benefit from this club, but I'm an 11 HC and know single digit golfers that use the club. In my case, I have trouble with chipping. I can chip like a pro on the practice green but on the course (1 shot, 1 chance), I am inconsistent. I'll chunk it or blade it, etc.
With the niblick, it is easier to hit. Period. At the practice green, I hit a set of twenty balls and get them ALL very close. The difference before was I would use an 8 or 9 iron to chip and would get MOST of them close, with the occassional chunk. So on the course, I still may not hit it close, but it won't be because of a chunk/blade. I may just hit it too hard.

This club does require some practice to get used to the distance. It is great for 100 yards and in, but for chipping, you will have to get used to it since the ball comes off a little hot, especially if you use "hinge & hold".

Pros - This is a great looking bag for a really good price in comparison to other cart bags. I love the exterior putter tube, and it has a ton of room for any accessories you might need. The front cooler pouch is a nice touch. The bag seems well constructed, with good zippers and sturdy pouches/compartments.

Cons - The removable panel in the front of the ball pouch(easily embroidered, apparently) is awkwardly velcro-ed on the bottom and only has one zipper so you have to unzip it from the bottom on the side, which is awkward if the pouch is full of golf balls. Also, the loop panel on the top where you cart strap goes through is not removable, so if your pull cart straps attach in the center, you have to try to tighten/attach under the loop. The club slots are great but don't extend to the bottom of the bag. Not a big deal but would have been nice. I skeptically bought a 15 degree 3 wood version of the Cleveland launcher as an off the tee club in tight situations. I am a high handicap golfer, and my driver sprays all over (or I spray my driver all over). The V100 GPS unit is one of the less expensive GPS units, however, if you are looking for a device that is easy to use, accurate and that does not break the bank in monthly or yearly subscription fees, then this one might be for you.

There are a couple of idiosyncrasies with it that you do need to know about however. First is that when you download a course from Sonocaddie's website, be sure and check the details. If that course doesn't have information listed as to origin of the information for you chosen course, it is probably empty of all information other than the course name. I downloaded Cedar Pines (local 9-hole course close to Wichita, Kansas) and though it shows up in the menu...it has NO yardages and only one Hole. I tried mapping that course manually and it wouldn't allow me to move past hole #1. It's no big deal for if you just start a "New Course" you can go ahead and map it manually. However, if you downloaded the course and it was empty, you will have to delete the course you downloaded from your GPS AND you will have burned up one of the initial 5 free course selections.

Again, that is not a big deal because most people will opt for the $30 one-time subscription that allows unlimited downloads.

When mapping fairway "targets" (hazards) from the Fairway View, the V100 shows you three lanes that represent the left rough, the fairway and the right rough. There are three positions in each "lane" to specify the type of hazard and supposedly, their relative distance from the green. HOWEVER, instead of having the potential of marking 9 fairway targets per hole, you have ONLY 3. You can place those three in any of the "lanes" but you can put only one in each of those relative positions from the green. For instance, you cannot put more than one target in the furthest position from the green even though one is in the right rough and the other in the left or in the fairway. Attempts to do so will erase the one previously entered. I did not see that limitation documented in any of the manuals nor in any of the reviews of the V100 that I'd found.

That really is the only "negative" comments I have about the little unit.

It is very good about locking onto satellites in my area even in cloudy weather (actually was misting the first time I used it and I was locked onto 9 satellites!)

After mapping the Cedar Pines course, I found the data provided by the GPS to be very accurate as confirmed by both checking it against Tee Box yardages and also by stepping off the distances on a couple of PAR 3's.

The "Mark" function seems to be accurate also as checked by stepping off the yardage from the point of the shot and the location of the ball after the strike. Unfortunately, my shots were not NEARLY as long as I'd convinced myself they were! Need to work on that

This bracket is fantastic. I usually walk when I play so I had to keep digging in my bag for the correct yardages. My girlfriend bought me these clubs for my birthday after I dropped some not to sneaky hints. So far they have worked wonderfully. I had been using my friend's father's clubs, and he was quite a bit taller then I am. I did some research and figured that these clubs would be a good fit for me and my game. I have taken them out to the driving range a few times, and played a few rounds with them, and my score automatically dropped 10 strokes!

In the set you get a 460cc driver with the square design. The larger face and square design make for a very forgiving club. I had abandoned the older driver I was using because I just could not control what the ball would do, but now I feel much more confident in my swing. I have topped the ball many times, and have not had it dent, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the same thing doesn't happen to me as some of the other reviewers.

The 3 wood is also very forgiving, and easy to hit out of the fairway. I really like the 3/4 Hybrid so far, and it is definitely easier to hit then a 3 iron.

The irons in this set are great. The wide sole has really helped. I used to just blade the ball and send it rolling 25 yards. Now I can take a divot and get the ball really moving down the fairway.

The putter is a blade putter, and I have been able to make a few more putts with it then I had with the older equipment I was using.

Each club comes with great grips that feel very comfortable in your hands. The putter grip is designed differently and makes me feel like I can really control what I am trying to do.

The bag is decent. The pockets seem awkward. Some are to small, and one of them seems to offer no function at all as it opens from the bottom? However, the backpack straps and padding where the bag rests against your back are very comfortable. It has four longer dividers, and four one club dividers, with fabric running down the length of the longer dividers to keep your clubs from tangling in each other.

Over all the set has worked out better then I could have imagined. I first thought the set looked kind of cheap from the pictures, but they are much better looking in real life. Once you offset the package with a 5 wood, Sand Wedge, and Lob Wedge, you have a very good almost complete set that a beginning golfer will use for years to come. I got this putter based mostly on how it looked, since I didn't get the chance to try it out before purchasing. I figured if it wasn't good, I'd try a different putter, but I was looking for a new mallet-style putter with good sight lines and a heavy feel, and this one looked like it meant business. I love the feel, it's quite heavy but you still get relatively good feedback on it. It has great sight lines along the top, so you can be sure you've got the right line for your putt. Overall, I think this club is a great confidence-booster and, hopefully, just as good a performance-booster.

Oh, and a minor note: When I opened the box that the club came in, I was a bit surprised that the club did not look "brand spankin' new" without any stickers or tags or anything, just plastic wrap over the club head. However, after close inspection, it appears this club was never used at all.

UPDATE: Been using this putter for a month now, played 3 rounds with it, and I'm really happy. It's saving me strokes. It has a lot of feedback, I think, for a mallet putter, but still a strong punch. Makes a beautiful "tink" sound upon impact. The ionized black finish is wearing down in some areas around the edge, so if that's going to be something that bothers you, take it into consideration. I've long been a fan of Oakley eyewear and other accessories, so I gave these a try. I was a bit skeptical because they're not really a shoe company, but they designed these well.

The spikes they come with are a pretty big upgrade from my decade-old Dexters, both in terms of performance and ease of upgrading. They just use the same spikes that are now standard, so you can buy pretty much any leading set.

The shoe is not the most comfortable, but it is comfortable. Certainly more than any other shoe in it's price range. I've tried some FootJoy's on that cost twice as much that I would say are more comfortable, but overall I'm happy saving a Benjamin.

The construction feels solid. They give you real shoestrings in stead of those thin laces a lot of golf shoes come with. They're sufficiently long to tie in a double not, but not so long that you're then tripping over them.

I've noticed some difference in what I have played; some feel brittle, but go a long ways, others feel spongy, but I have played whatever was on sale, had won or had been given as a gift. I had been given a box of these at an outing and put them on the shelf "for later". I decided to try them late in the season of my league and at first didn't really notice much difference.
