The smash bag is recommended by many golf instructors. The training aid stops the golf club at impact in the correct position. While its not the same as hitting the golf ball at impact its gives one the correct feeling, balance and position. This correct position can then be repeated. This resistance can be transferred to hitting the golf ball on the range. Being new to golf I found the smash bag very helpful in getting the correct feel at impact.
