Discount InTech Shag Bag (Red)

I was looking for a decent shag bag to help pick up the balls on the chipping practice green when I spotted this one on Amazon. The price was right and it appeared to be well made (not plastic). On this purchase, I did the right thing. It's great.

I usually carry about 50 golf balls in it and just dump them around the green in different locations. After chipping them towards the hole (or trying), the shag bag goes with me to collect them. Much easier than picking them up by hand (I'm not a spring chicken, Medicare is my doctor) or batting them back to the side (then having to chase them around again).

I had looked at several from other sources and they were either quite a bit more expensive and/or made with plastic parts. This bag is sturdy, well made and easy to use. I've picked up well more than 1,000 balls and it works very well.

I would highly recommend this one to any golfer serious enough to practice his/her short game.

The turn-off is the price, but I don't regret buying it. I keep it attached to a spare club. This aid helps me focus on a flat left wrist at the top of my backswing. Then, it helps me develop lag by remaining in contact with my forearm during my downswing. In the follow thru, it helps keep my swing on-plane by coming back in contact with my forearm.

I didn't have high expectations for this, but wanted an inexpensive golf GPS. This worked PERFECTLY.
It does a great job of judging distance to the green -- front, middle and center -- which is really what I wanted it for. I found it was missing a few distances to fairway bunkers, but I could add those as needed.

One thing I really liked about it was the size... It is small enough to clip onto your belt and easily pops in and out so you can check it on each stroke.

Where To Buy INTECH LiteRider Cart (10" wheels, steel frame)

You can't beat this cart for an inexpensive way to get around the course. Very light and stable and comes with features such as a score card holder, 2 ball holders, pencil and tee holders and folds easily with you bag attached.

I found the straps that hold your bag are adequate and did not have a problem of my bag turning sideways as others experienced.
You only have to attach the wheels, strap in your bag and your ready to go. The wheel attachment screws are already held by the frame so there are no parts to lose when assembeling. One somewhat confusing label by the wheel attachment states "warning-tighten to maximum" while the imprinted words on the tightener states "hand tighten only". I decided that "tighten to maximum" was the way to go and snugged it with a pair of pliers, being careful not to overly tighten and risk breaking.(A little more than hand-tighten).

I can see where the scorecard holder may allow your card to fall out. A couple strips of velcro or rubber bands probably will help but have'nt tried this yet.

The card holder assembly is held by three rivets which you could drill out and remove completely but you will lose the features of your 2 ball, pencil and tee holders.I can see that by snagging or banging the card holder on something in my trunk it will eventually break, crack or loosen.

I noticed that the arm that holds the handle moves slightly up and down when the cart is all the way open. No big deal but I put a peice of duct tape over the post where you slide the square holder over to firm up the handle arm which solved that.

I have used this cart 4 times with no stability problems and feel like it will hold up very well over time. Its a lot lighter to pull than my old cart and if you want a basic cart its well worth the money....

That a champion golfer would be asked to produce an instruction video is no surprise and traces its history all the way back to Bobby Jones' Hollywood golf instruction videos produced in the 1930's. "Lessons of a Lifetime" was obviously made by very intelligent man who has spent a lot of time thinking about the golf swing. And it takes a certain amount of introspection and humility to admit that despite having won 8 majors, he didn't completely understand the golf swing until 1994 when he says he discovered "the secret". There is a grainy video on YOUTUBE where while at an exhibition obviously conducted for an outing or pro-am, TW tells the audience that he didn't know how to swing a golf club until 1994. The audience is heard laughing. This guy's won 8 majors, ha ha, they were thinking. It wasn't until a few moments later when he elaborated further that they suddenly understood he was quite serious. Let me just say this as an avid golfer used to paying an hourly rate of $100-120 for golf tune-ups: this is the best instruction I have received, probably ever. I didn't say best video, I said instruction, period, live or on tape. Take a look at the simplicity of his swing. Compare it to the many videos you can find on the web of Ben Hogan. While they differ in plane--Tom is more upright--both are exemplars of simplicity and efficiency. I have Hogan's book, Five Lessons. I used to refer to it often. It was trail blazing in its analysis, the new benchmark for golf instruction. I would put TW's CD's in the same camp, except his instruction is far far easier to understand. There's something cryptic about Hogan's supination and pronation thesis-- gives me a headache frankly, and I've been a single digit handicapper for close to 40 years! These are fantastic golf lessons set in a bucolic setting at the Greenbrier. I could go on about how TW's approach is so much simpler and useful compared to today's back breaking contortions advocated by the guru's. But I will stop here: Tom Watson is 60 and his golf swing still works effectively at the highest levels of golf. Most former golf champions his age, spend their mornings in traction to relieve back pain before going off to do a few small appearances here and there. Tom Watson's lessons are well worth half the price of one lesson with your local pro. Hogan's "Five Lessons" is back on the book shelf.
